Become Crew

Would you like to help make the OWL an unforgettable experience for new international students? Are you internationally orientated, social and would you like to meet new students from all over the globe? Then this is the perfect opportunity for you!

To make sure everything runs smoothly, we need crew members who can help us with events during the week. One of the advantages of being crew is that you don’t have to be available every day of the week, but you will still be able to participate. You are free to choose from several shifts and you can join in activities throughout the week free of charge!

We organise a Training Day during which you will be informed of the specifics, so you have to be available to attend!

During the week we have different crew options, so you can choose what you like, or even combine them!

  • Crew: helping out on locations (building & breaking down stands, handing out food, tidying up, and more: basically any kind of job that needs to be done during the week).
  • Media crew: are you interested in photography and own a good camera? Then sign up for media crew and take photos during the OWL week at different locations.
  • Bar crew: would you like to work behind the OWL bar and pour beers for thirsty owlies? Then you can work as bar crew! You will also be responsible for building up the bar and cleaning up afterwards. You will receive an on the job training including a short test that will earn you a certificate for responsible alcohol serving.
  • Van driver: if you have a valid driver’s license B and know your way around Leiden, then you could drive the OWL van to and from different locations during the week.
  • Night’s Watch: you can find more information about the Night’s Watch in the next page.

  • Spend time with an enthusiastic group of people
  • Join unique and fun activities
  • Expand your social network
  • With 3 shifts you earn free access to the ISN/OWL end party!
  • Practise your languages
  • Several free meals and drinks
  • Bond with the people behind the scenes
